Conquering First Week of Yoga Instructor Training

Wow, what a weekend! It was a whirlwind of emotions, sweat, and triumphs. Here’s the highlight reel:

Friday, January 3rd marked the official kickoff of my yoga instructor training! The evening was a warm introduction—just a few hours of connecting with fellow trainees and setting the stage for the journey ahead. It was inspiring to hear about the program's expectations and feel the collective excitement in the room.

Saturday? Well, Saturday came in like a yoga warrior! It started with not one but two two-hour yoga flow sessions (don’t worry, there was a break in between). Now, let me tell you, while I’ve been practicing yoga consistently for over a year (about 2-3 times a week), this was next-level endurance. Somewhere in the midst of the flows, I had a less-than-graceful moment when my left heel collided with my right ankle during a transition. Oh, the colorful words that danced through my mind! But hey, I powered through, bruises and all.

The day didn’t end there. We dove headfirst into hours of learning, sitting on our trusty yoga mats. And while I’m no stranger to floor-sitting, let’s just say eight hours of it was a new challenge. But guess what? I survived!

By Sunday, things were less intense—thank goodness! I came prepared with a floor pillow for a little extra comfort and embraced the 8-hour session like a pro.

The weekend tested my limits, but it also ignited a fire in me. It’s the start of an incredible adventure, and I’m ready to keep flowing, learning, and growing. Bring it on, yoga instructor training! 🧘‍♀️✨
